On this date, NBC replaces "Personality" with a new game show, "Sale of the Century", hosted by Jack Kelly, then by Joe Garagiola after two years. The announcer for this run was Bill Wendell and produced by Al Howard Productions for the 1969-74 run.

Also, NBC replaced "Eye Guess" with Lohman and Barkley's "Name Droppers".

Then, "The Match Game" was replaced with "Letters to Laugh-In", a spin-off of the NBC popular nighttime comedy variety show "Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In". It was hosted by the announcer of "Laugh-In", Gary Owens, and was produced by George Schlatter-Ed Friendly.

Finally, "You Don't Say" was replaced with a new soap opera "Bright Promise". Between 3 ET/2 CT to 4 ET/3 CT, all three networks competed with soap operas for a full hour of sudsers in late afternoon. That is nothing compared to what all three would be doing in the 1980s when 3 1/2 hours of daytime programming would have all three networks running soaps against each other.
